Krispy Kreme, the beloved US-based doughnut brand, is actively seeking new master franchise partners in seven international markets as part of its strategy to accelerate global expansion.
Known for its warm Original Glazed® doughnuts and iconic Hot Light™ experience, the brand is doubling down on its capital-light, franchise-driven model to reach more consumers around the world.
Capital-Light Model Drives Global Growth
In its Q4 2024 earnings call, Krispy Kreme CEO Josh Charlesworth reaffirmed that franchising remains the most efficient and profitable method for expanding internationally.

“Our profitable capital-light international franchise business grew points of access by 8 percent in 2024,” said Charlesworth. “Those have expanded in markets such as France and South Korea. For example, our franchise partner in France has rapidly grown to 19 doughnut shops across Paris and plans to add another 50 points of access as they enter the DFD [Delivered Fresh Daily] channel in 2025.”
Krispy Kreme currently operates company-owned markets in the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, and Canada. For all other regions, the brand continues to seek ambitious, experienced franchise partners capable of scaling the brand in line with its international standards.
Partnership Success in France & South Korea
Krispy Kreme’s current international partnerships offer a blueprint for successful market development. In France, the brand works with Columbus Café & Co, which has seen rapid growth and strong market response. In South Korea, its collaboration with retail giant Lotte has also fueled meaningful expansion across the country.
Opportunities Now Open for Franchise Candidates

While the company has not publicly named the seven new markets under consideration, this latest initiative signals a prime opportunity for qualified investors and restaurant operators seeking a globally recognized brand with strong consumer demand and proven operating systems.
Despite Challenges, Resilient Performance
Krispy Kreme’s global momentum continued despite a cybersecurity incident in 2023 that impacted Q4 earnings. The company reported $404 million in fourth-quarter net sales, with organic revenue increasing 1.8% to $400.6 million. Adjusted EBITDA stood at $45.9 million, reflecting an estimated $10 million impact from the cyberattack.
Still, the company’s strong overall performance highlights its operational resilience and the strength of its international growth strategy.
Join the Global Doughnut Movement
With the brand’s international footprint rapidly expanding, now may be the ideal time to explore franchise opportunities with Krispy Kreme. Whether you’re a seasoned operator or a regional foodservice leader, becoming a master franchisee could position you at the center of a sweet, scalable business model.
